I have heard it said that your food can be your best medicine or a poison that leads to a slow death. Choices matter. God is our CREATOR. That is not just a religious concept. He created us…spirit, soul and BODY. And He gave us an owner’s manual/instructions…the Bible. If we bought a man-made device, wouldn’t we read the manual/instructions that came with it of how to put it together, use and care, etc.? That should certainly be true concerning God’s instruction manual for LIFE….a healthy, prosperous, productive life, with purpose and meaning! One that is worth passing on to the next generation. In a physical world which He ALSO delegated to us to steward well. And we have failed miserably. BUT THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE WITH GOD!!! Repentance and renewal are also not just a religious or spiritual concept. It’s for our physical life, as well!!! For example, here are some of the things I have discovered on just the subject of health and nutrition. EVERYONE from Adam to Noah lived HUNDREDS of years…365 years, 777 years, and several well over 900 years (Genesis 5) with just the instructions in Genesis 1:29 “And God said, ‘I give you every seed-bearing plant growing throughout the earth, vegetables, and every fruit-bearing tree with its seed within itself. They will be your food.’ This was taught from father to son and mother to daughter through all those generations. Noah was 600 years old when he built the ark…a MASSIVE structure (and it still exists, by the way). Talk about a strong, healthy, vigorous and robust “older” man! With only his 3 sons to help him. They didn’t have a lumber store to get their supplies from. They did it all from the forest….and followed God’s instructions. And they took all the food for themselves and the animals into the ark, which lasted them for just over a year. Then God gave Noah permission for the first time to eat meat, telling him to make sure that the blood was completely drained out before eating it. Noah lived another 350 years, 950 total. But his son only lived 600 years. The lifespan of the following generations continued to reduce to around 200 years (Genesis 11). I am convinced that this is because of the addition of meat to their diet. And that was before the chemicals and hormones and GMO feed with chemical pesticides and fertilizers that are in meats today! Another example in scripture is in Daniel 1, with Daniel and his 3 friends who persuaded their overseer to test them by allowing them to eat only vegetables and drink water for 10 days while the others ate choice meats and wine from the king’s table. At the end of the 10 days there was a noticeable difference in their appearance. So, they were allowed to continue with only vegetables and water during the 3 year training period before entering the king’s service. By the time the king was ready to choose from those in training to enter his service, he found Daniel and friends to be 10 TIMES BETTER in all areas of wisdom and understanding THAN EVEN the king’s magicians in ALL the land. What goes on in my body affects my mind, psyche, etc. too!!! Our whole being! It’s all connected in God’s AMAZING design!❤️
